I was in Santa Barbara for a few days and stopped by my longtime favorite, Chuck's of Hawaii. I was a party of 1 and they sort of stuck me in the corner but, it was fine. I ordered a Chardonnay and had the swordfish special. The salad bar was just perfect and the swardfish was pretty good, a little dry but, still good. My server, a gentleman seemed to check on me often towards the end of the evening. I think he wanted to leave but, all was good

Andrea , the bartender was amazing Friday evening . Doing a fabulous job all by herself . I don't know how she was able to handle such crowd on her own but she did ! Very focused and attentive ...Good work Andrea ....you deserve a raise

Love coming here! A Santa Barbara institution-- service (depending), ambiance and food is great. Sitting outside is nice on these hot days. Teriyaki Ribeye is outstanding. They have a locally sourced sea bass, it's also outstanding. Service was phenomenal. Our waitress was a really tall, pretty blonde girl ...Kayla? Knowledgable, fast, personable, and everything recommended to us was great. She even sweetly sent out a cheescake for our 23rd wedding anniversary. Keep it up Chuck's! We'll be back.

Thank you chucks for the best lighting In Santa barbara!!! I HATE sitting in a restaurant with bright lights no ambiance. You have done it with atmosphere. On to service.. oh my. Kayla knocked it out of the park ! The first server I have had in years that listened. Everything we asked for was done . She was on top of everything. Cocktail server...fast Waters always full. Food done to perfection...I know I am a chef. The bill knocked me off my feet. 2 wines 2 steaks 1 potato upgrade 5 scallops insanely yummy 126.00 I checked twice for mistakes I thought we were undercharged Thanks ..we will be back!)

Old school restaurant that is a throwback in time. A real old fashioned salad bar. I have not seen one of these in years. I was a little surprised in a post 2020 era to see one in operation. They kept it well stocked and the area was very clean. Fresh breads were always available too. My pork chop was very well seasoned and was cooked perfectly. The Hawaiian chicken another in our party had was definitely well done. The service was a bit slow but not bad. Our server took care of us but getting a drink refreshed was a bit of a challenge. The space is old school. Dark woods, heavy wood tables and chairs with arms. The booths were old school cool as well. As we were in Santa Barbara, I think I would prefer a seafood spot next time. If I wanted a salad and a steak or chop, I would not shy away from Chucks.

Chuck's is my go to when I want a big steak and a salad! I love me a salad bar and I think it's the only one left in town. All you can eat salad and bread with every entree. Where can you get that?? Really fresh bread, fresh salad fixings plus great dressings! Their ranch is soooo good. My hubs and I usually split a steak and pay for an extra salad bar. They will give you a free side of their delicious teriyaki rice, so it is more than enough food. Add a Mai Tai and you can pretend you are on the islands. Mahalo!

This was my first time trying Chuck's. It was packed because of Fathers Day and they have a one hour HH from 5-6. We were able to find a spot in the bar. Our waitress was prompt with coming over and getting our drink orders. It was nice sitting in the bar because there was slightly more light than in the dining room. I would recommend having a reservation and requesting to sit on the patio. The salad bar was great! It's not common to see salad bars anymore. (Because of the Rona) I didn't like that you have pay for baked potato or your entree just comes with rice. The halibut was a huge portion and cooked to perfection. My honey had the steak strip he liked it. I love that it's an SB staple. I will definitely be back.
